Oh, how I miss thee....

I still miss Chloe and feel her absence like she just left us yesterday. I still call her name often when I call for "Roxy and Chloe" and amazingly Brooklyn still asks about her consistently. Roxy misses her. I could cry right now just thinking about what a special dog she was to us. I remember exactly the day David and I got her and how sweet and fluffy she was. She was our first baby and we treated her like that. People always told me that when we actually had babies that our dogs would become dogs...but that never happened. I came across these pictures last night taken last summer when Chloe was still her cute, happy and healthy self and I thought I would post.

Guardian Angel

He will kill me for this when he grows up, but I could not resist. Brooklyn and Jace were playing butterfly and Angels this day and we took pictures :)

California Day Dreamin'

Roxy just stared peacefully off into the backyard for the longest time when I snapped this shot. I think she was thinking how grateful she is for the baby-proofing on the sliding glass door so she could have a minute to herself without her new best friend carrying her around, dancing with her, dressing her up or having a tea party with her :) But really maybe she was looking and thinking about and missing Chloe. I know she still misses her, her ears still perk up when we say Chloe. Roxy is such a good, sweet, gentle dog.

Just kickin' it...

I doubt this is how the manufacturer of this high chair intended it to function.

Happy 4th of July 2010

....happy....not so much! We have a lot of making up to do next year in 2011. Brooklyn and I spent the entire 4th of July holiday in the hospital at CHOC. My little princess had a bacterial infection in her bladder that had to be treated with IV antibiotics only. She went thru so much in those five days and was completely fed up at the end of it...who could blame her. Thankfully, she is back to her normal, cute, cheerful, fiesty self! We will make it up to you next year Brookie B and Jace man!
Night one in the ER

Still night one, in the ER....3 hrs later :(

Next morning (day 2), could that face be more pathetic? BOOO!

Day 2 at night - still not happy!

Day 3 - Feeling much better

Day 4 - passing time taking pictures of herself, not bad!

Day 5 - before going home showing Jace the ropes!
Special visitors - We didn't capture all of the visitors on camera but that doesn't mean we love those visitors any less. Having visitors really lifted this little girl's spirits. I hope it taught her and Jace a lesson on how little things like your time can go such a long way. I will remind them of that often.

Imposter!

Baby brother came by a few times, oh how happy we were to see his sweet face.
I want to go home!

"Oops, we pressed the button by mistake" - the Nurses station was so tired of hearing that from Room 532, Brooklyn just could not resist touching that big red button....I finally found a solution on how to resolve that...here is a video clip!
