Dancing Princesses

Brooklyn and Adelle got to dance with the Princess and the Frog's Princess Tiana - Brooklyn's favorite, hands down! Although Brooklyn does prefer the princess when she is the actual frog but that is okay. She was in awe when she saw this group dancing but made her way to the stage.

Best Wishes Treanna and Gabriel

Tree and Gabriel got married a few weeks ago, yay! I can't think of any better reason to leave my little lovies behind, so I made the trip to Mammoth to celebrate. Although, I cooked and cleaned so it wasn't much of a vacation - hee hee! We had a great time! Much love to Tree and Gabriel, wishing them all of the best!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Dirt Devils

The weather was very kind to us a few weekends ago and while David was over impersonating Mr. Dang (our gardener) and checking to make sure all the sprinklers were working the kids got to get a little wet and of course the greatest blessing that water brings is....MUD. Mud is a very good friend of Brooklyn and Jace's. While they played I just sat back and captured some fun memories for them.

The hot spot!
Loving running through the sprinklers.
This is GREAT!
Jace loves to sit right here and touch the sprinkler.

The kids also practice the best tap dancing in the mud puddle that surrounds the tree...here are a few videos.

Seeing these two have this much fun is worth the mess!

You've come a long way baby!

Jace recently had his two year check up with Dr. Gladstein. Sitting and discussing his progress physically with the Dr always reminds me just how far this little peanut has come. When David and I brought him home from the hospital he was just under four pounds, I still can't believe that. Being a preemie presented some additional concerns but ultimately he proved to us how strong he was. I remember David telling me that Dr. Sugihara told David that the baby was "a little fighter" the night he was born, I will never forget that. She also told David that I was healthy and strong, I will never forget that either especially with the last year I have had.

Highlights for Jace
Height - 36 inches
Weight 30 lbs 12 oz
He is in the 75 percentile in both height and weight - at his first Dr appt with Dr. Gladstein he was in the 10th percentile and finally reached 50 percentile at 1 year. Brooklyn has always been in the 90-95 percentile. Strangely enough Jace is actually taller than Brooklyn was at 2.

Little love at 5 weeks old

3 already? NO WAY!

How is Brooklyn already 3? Some days it feels like yesterday I brought her home but most often I can barely remember our lives before she was here. It is like she was always meant to be here. It is amazing. This year has been incredibly special watching her discover her independence, express her feelings in words, learn to appreciate the beauty of the world - colors, sounds, objects, shapes. Hearing her say please and thank you, I miss you, I love you...I could cry right now thinking about it and hearing her sweet little voice.

Brooklyn has a great sense of humor, she is very silly and loves to laugh and joke around. She loves to color, play outside, play in water, ride her tricycle (that she can pedal now), ride her scooter, take baths, brush her teeth, go shopping....so many loves. Jace is her constant companion, she gives orders that he takes willingly and she loves that. Sometimes she can be a little rough with him and be mean but they do have a deep love for each other that is obvious. She loves Roxy, and Roxy plays hard to get but she is the first one to curl up next to Brooklyn when Brooklyn is.....SLEEPING :) Brooklyn loves all of her little friends and her cousins. She told the pediatrician Adelle is her best friend which melted my heart. And, she rattled off all her other cousins names when he asked about her friends. She knows what she wants and will find any way to get it, this can be both rewarding and frusturating to watch. This is definitely something I will love later as she gets out in the world.

We celebrated Brooklyn's birthday with some flapjacks in the morning, a trip to Knotts Berry Farm with the Hillewaerts, cupcakes with cousin Kayden, and riding her new scooter down the street. She got other gifts but the scooter took home the gold for her!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!

3 little cuties at Knotts
Brooklyn loved walking over this wobbly bridge - of course she would rather go into the water below it but we restrained her.
So happy to be at Knotts

Little pilot about to take his first flight (it brought him to tears - literally!)
Blowing out her #3 on her cupcake - yay!!
Still not a frosting lover.
Opening some birthday party presents, as she would say.

Happy 3rd Birthday Family Picture (Jace looks a mess)

Happy 3rd Birthday Brookie B! Our little lovebug, you have learned so many things this past year and are growing up so fast. You make us so proud of the beautiful, affectionate, determined, sweet little girl you have become. Celebrating your birthday was a great day for all of us, and we look forward to many more special birthdays and special days ahead of us. We love you little angel. XOXOXO!

Going, going.....

Oh yea, you should see the other guy...

What a perfect and ladylike way to start Easter weekend, with a shiner. I know she looks like she is a little scrapper but what really happened was she took a face dive in the backyard on the slope. Amazingly, it was almost healed within days - although we are putting mederma on it twice a day because her Daddy is always very concerned about scars ;) When you ask her what happened to her face she always replies "you got to be careful" - easier said than done for her!
