Sweet Kisses

Another reason I love this little guy....not that I really need any more!

*Excuse the rookie camerwoman!

It's a Dora kind of Christmas

Dora, Dora, Dora....can you spot Dora in the picture....click..there she is :) As Dora would say! Brooklyn has a new little Christmas friend. Turns out Santa dressed as Santa is not good but Dora dressed as Santa is perfectly acceptable.

"Mommy go sleep" Game

The way she tiptoes is hilarious. She is really into the pretending to be asleep, when I drive her somewhere and open the door to get her out she snores and says "Shh, Brooklyn sleep" - it is really funny (and cute!).

A World In Color

It has been so interesting to see Brooklyn learn her colors, to see which one she favors (YELLOW), how she can determine the difference between two colors that look similar and seeing her begin to understand that there are different objects that are the same color and same objects that are different color. Car rides are more eventful now because I hear "Hi Red" and I try to figure out what she is talking about, is it the car next to us, or the stop sign, perhaps a billboard. She is really enjoying learning her colors, it is so much more beautiful to have a life in color.

Brooklyn - you are learning so much every day, it is hard to keep up. I know when I tell you to bring me your pink shoes and you go into the playroom and manage to return with the correct shoes it appears that I overreact with joy. But really I am genuinely THAT proud of you. Seeing you learn new things and how excited you get when you accomplish something is so amazing to your parents so please excuse us if we appear to be overreacting...

My baby Jace

Oh Jace, I could talk about this little guy all day. He is growing so fast but despite getting older he is still the same sweet, mellow, tender-hearted little guy. I cannot imagine our family without him, he is such a special addition, he is everything I pictured about having a little boy and more. I have added some current information about my little cutie, along with some pictures and videos.

Likes

  • The bottle (STILL)

  • Backyardigans - loves Pablo

  • Playing outside - he loves to climb up the slope in our backyard

  • Throwing dirt, loves dirt and rocks too.

  • Bathtime - it took a while but he finally has a true love for it and even cries when its over.

  • Pulling mommy's hair - he loves to play with my hair when I hold him.

  • Chase - he loves to be chased around the house and he loves chasing Brooklyn around.

  • Bedtime - he is perfectly content going to bed at bedtime - unlike the other child that lives with us.

  • He loves his sister, she is his greatest entertainer- hands down.

Dislikes

  • Sippy cups with milk

  • Getting his ears cleaned

  • When I leave for work in the morning

  • Wearing anything on his head - not a hat kid (yet)

Here are some new pictures, he is going to be a little heartbreaker! He is such a cute little boy, I know I am biased.

A few videos of Jace being himself

Let me in people!

Happy to see my show!

Cutie

The runaway, he thinks this is great.

Balloon Fun?

Just a little peak at our lives with balloons. The kids LOVE balloons, we have to get one every time we go to the grocery store, in this case they were out of the helium so we HAD to purchase one of the birthday balloons to celebrate no birthday in particular. Ten minutes after we got home here is what happened...

Same balloon...different day!

P.S. Leaving folded laundry on the bed in the playroom is NOT a good idea. Mental note!

Movie Night

The cold weather came right in time with the new Backyardigans DVD - "Robot Repairman" - the kids enjoyed their new DVD with a side of popcorn (not pictured) on their designated couches.

Trick -Or - Treat

Supportive Baby Brother

Brooklyn is potty training and the whole family gets involved. Jace tries to help put the toilet seat down (teaching him young), he has not mastered doing this AFTER Brooklyn is finished. Here is a clip of how potty training is going...clearly, we have a long way to go. As Brooklyn always tells herself "Go, Brooklyn Go" - you can do it Buggy Boo!

Big girl on the potty!

Dora potty - check

Crayons - check

Hello Kitty book - check

Big orange pumpkin - check

Go potty on the big toilet - maybe next time!!

A dog's best friend

Roxy is so glad Jace has finally learned the ropes of passing food down the food chain...

Little Sweeties

They actually do this quite often, Brooklyn always wants Jace to get in the pack and play with her.

Slide on my own - CHECK

He is off and sliding! You can imagine how impressed Brooklyn is that he can do this now, although she does give him an occasional push.

Notice the tongue - complete concentration....

Name Game

We have been working with Brooklyn to learn some of her cousins' names, she is doing well. She gets stage fright when we ask her to say Addysin - I am not sure why - it is not like we ask her to spell it :) Anyway, she is doing great and even though she can't say them all yet she has love for them all the same...

Celebrity Fit Club

Guess which one is the celebrity?

Meeting Matthew

Zack and Tia had their baby, yay! He is a little cutie! We made the trip to Ridgecrest and got to see him in the hospital. Welcome to the family Matthew, your crazy cousins can't wait to meet you, play with you and love you! Congratulations Tia and Zack!

Well, hello there!

Birthday BBQ with the Hillewaerts

Eric and Niki had us over for some BBQ to celebrate.....ME! Here are a few pictures of the cousins doing their thing....

Enjoying some happy birthday cupcakes!

Trying to get all three..always a treat!

Jace giving us a shout out

Brooklyn

A little negotiating going on here...

The infamous side-way slide...go Jace!

Little cupcakes cuties! Love these girls!

Is this how I do it?

Jace definitely has a little Brooklyn in him with this move...he tried for about 10 minutes to get inside of this cart, very entertaining to watch - it ended with a very disappointed little guy.

Disneyland

Happy Birthday Mimi! I took my little love bug to Disneyland for my birthday, we both got in free so it was a total win :) We had a lot of fun, there is just nothing like seeing your kid in complete joy, she loved it. We missed little brother though!

Brooklyn before we left telling me who we were going to see.

She is so funny, she really was trying to figure out how to jump this fence. I have to laugh - always trying to make things a little more interesting.

Hands down, this was her favorite part of the Disneyland park -good to know - there is a similar fountain outside of the Macaroni Grille down the street - cheap thrills!

I dare you to put your head in - Done!
Putting your hands in is so childish ;)

She asked about Minnie 100 times but once we saw her this is as close as she wanted to get to her.

"Horses" - we rode the carousel MANY times!
For some reason she was totally shy in Mickey's House - she really didn't want to touch anything - obviously out of character for her!
Yes, she thought this was a slide.
Within 2 minutes of being in the car - she was fast asleep. But don't think this lasted she woke up when we got home and wanted to know what we were doing next! (ignore the dork that is driving).
Disneyland is so different when you experience it with someone so small. Things you think she will love she rushes past and things you take for granted are like little treasures. It was such a fun day and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way, except if I could grow two more arms I could have brought Jace. I gave her as much freedom as I could and basically felt like a stalker walking right on her heels the whole day. She was super cute and I will alwways remember it, and even if she doesn't I will tell her all about it when she gets older, especially dunking her head in the fountain. I wish I could have gotten more pictures but that was risky business with how quickly she made her way around the amusement park!
